INSCRIPTION / ENGRAVING

Who can purchase a brick?

Anyone can purchase a brick—currently serving Soldiers regardless of component, Army veterans, friends and relatives of Soldiers and veterans, and the general public.

Who can be honored on a brick?

The bricks are designed to honor currently serving Soldiers of the active Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard; Army veterans and veterans of the sister services; the families of Soldiers and veterans; past and present Department of the Army civilians; and veterans organizations and military associations. They are also designed to allow members of the general public to include messages of thanks and appreciation to those who serve and to show their support for the National Museum of the United States Army project.

What are other people putting on their bricks?

Please visit our interactive virtual brick page http://www.imaginemyARMYbrick.com where you can type and create your personal inscription on a simulated museum brick! You can view other inscription examples to assist you with your inscription and to nudge your creativity.

Can I put a personal image or graphic on my brick?

No. Only numbers, letters and/or punctuation marks found on a standard keyboard are permitted. No websites, phone numbers, and/or commercialization. All brick inscriptions are subject to approval.

Do you allow any lower case letters?

No. All inscriptions will be centered and engraved in an UPPERCASE font, to include surnames like MACARTHUR (for MacArthur) and DEGEORGIO (for DeGeorgio).

How big are the letters on the brick?

The letter height is a half of an inch on full-size bricks and a quarter inch on the miniature replica bricks.

Do the messages automatically get centered on the brick?

Yes. Each of the inscription’s lines of 20 characters or less is automatically centered.

How many letters fit on a line?

Twenty (20) characters are allowed per line of text for both the 4” x 8” and 8” x 8” brick sizes. A character is defined as a letter, number, punctuation mark, or blank space between words.

How many lines fit on a 4" x 8"?

One to three lines of 20 characters each will fit on a 4” x 8” brick.

How many lines fit on an 8" x 8"?

One to six lines of 20 characters each will fit on an 8” x 8” brick.

Can I change my inscription if I change my mind? Is there a fee?

Yes. You will receive an inscription verification letter to review for accuracy within 2-4 weeks of your order being processed. You will then have 10 days from the date of the letter to make changes. Any requests that create a new inscription will be submitted for a new approval and be subject to a $10 reprocessing fee payable by credit card over the phone. Any changes made after the 10 day review period will be subject to a change fee.

What is the last date I can order?

No closing date has been set, but space on the Path of Remembrance is limited. To avoid disappointment and to have your commemorative brick included in this prestigious location, we suggest you place your order ASAP.

When does my credit card get charged?

Online orders are charged immediately. Orders faxed or mailed in are processed within 5-7 business days of receiving your order.

When can I expect confirmation of my order?

-Online orders will receive an instant payment receipt followed by an email order confirmation within 2-5 business days of the order being placed.
-Direct mail orders will also receive an email order confirmation within 5-7 business days if an email address is provided.
-All orders will receive an inscription verification letter along with their inscribed “Keepsake Certificate” within 2-4 weeks of the order being processed and approved by the National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA).
-Watch closely for your email order confirmation in the event it goes to spam or junk mail folder.

Have you received my order?

-If you ordered online or by phone and provided a valid email account and have not received an email order confirmation within 2-5 business days, please call to inquire about the status of your order.
-For those who mail in their orders with payment, please allow 5-7 business days for an email confirmation or for the amount to post to your credit card statement or banking account if no email was provided.
-All orders will receive an inscription verification letter along with their inscribed “Keepsake Certificate” within 2-4 weeks of the order being processed and approved by NMUSA.

Is there a discount for special groups?

No. Additional discounts will not be offered.

Can I purchase a gift certificate for a friend?

Yes; You can purchase online after selecting a brick option or call to place your order directly with a customer service agent at 1-855-ARMY-BRX (855-276-9279). Gift Certificates are also a great way to secure your spot at the National Museum of the United States Army while giving you additional time to create your ideal inscription.

Is my purchase tax deductible?

Yes. The purchase price for your commemorative brick to be installed at the Museum is tax deductible. However, the purchase price for the keepsake brick replica and presentation display case is not tax deductible. Your tax- deductible portion will be noted on your inscription verification letter. It is recommended to consult with a tax advisor.

Is there sales tax?

Only Idaho residents are required to include a sales tax of six percent.

Can I pay by check?

Yes. Please make check payable to “NATIONAL ARMY MUSEUM FUND”.

Where will the proceeds from the bricks go?

The proceeds from the commemorative brick program will be used to help build the National Museum of the United States Army.

QUANTITY / LOCATION

How many bricks are available?

Quantities are limited. Orders are processed on a first come, first served basis, and early purchasers are given prime placement.

Can I choose where my brick is placed?

Bricks will be installed along the Path of Remembrance in the order in which they are received, with those ordered earliest installed nearest to the Museum’s main entrance. If several bricks are purchased on one order, those bricks can be installed together if requested.

How will I know where my brick is?

When the bricks are installed, purchasers can look up the location of their bricks online and at the National Army Museum.

When and where are the bricks going to be placed?

These bricks will be in place for the Museum's grand opening along the Path of Remembrance. The Path of Remembrance has extended from the walkway that brings visitors from the parking lots to the Museum's entrance to the Parade Ground Plaza.

REPLICAS / DISPLAY CASES

What is the replica made of?

-Full-size replicas are made of the same black granite and finish as those to be installed at the Museum complete with a “National Museum of the United States Army” brass plaque affixed to the top.
-Miniature replicas are made of the same black granite as those to be installed at the Museum and will have a polished finish. The miniature replica also has a “National Museum of the United States Army” brass plaque affixed to the top.
-Colors may vary slightly.

Can a Replica be shipped to a different address?

Yes. However, package size prohibits shipment to P.O. Box addresses.

How long does it take to get my replica?

Replicas are expected to be engraved and shipped within 8-12 weeks from the date the order is processed and approved by NMUSA.

Can I pay to have my replica expedited?

Yes. Please call 855-ARMY-BRX (855-276-9279) to speak with a customer service representative and to get a shipping quote.

Where is my replica brick?

If you have placed an order more than 12 weeks ago to a non APO/FPO address and have not received a shipment tracking notification, please call 1-855-ARMY-BRX (855-276-9279) or email museumbricks@armyhistory.org.
